Namoradeira
The Namoradeira armchair was created during the peak of José Zanine Caldas's career, during his years working on "Protest Furniture." This intimate armchair is incredibly poetic: it showcases the power and strength of the Amazon rainforest, yet its form is a true embodiment of balance. A rare piece of collectible design, it serves as a powerful metaphor for his life journey. Caldas also knew how to balance opposing forces, following his passion and his sense of what was right, remaining true to himself while working where he felt the need.
The chair made of pequi wood belonged to Pedro Ferreira de Assis, whose father, João Ferreira de Assis, acquired it from José Zanin Caldas' studio in the 1980s.
