Paysage

Paysage is a series of drawings made with hard pencil over fields of ink stains, appearing to float in emptiness. The works are based on photographs of flint stones taken during an artist residency in Les Eyzies-de-Tayac in France. Through a shift in scale, these fragments become an ambiguous mineral landscape. Focusing on representations of millennia-old objects becomes for the artist a way of granting them a different temporality, distinct from the one through which they are usually perceived.
