Elapsed Time Finisterræ
Elapsed Time Finisterræ is a series of works created by Daniela Busarello during the COVID-19 pandemic, while moving between different places and seasons—winter in Paris and Finistère, autumn in the Luberon, summer in Mata
During lockdown, when everyday social life was interrupted, long, quiet walks became an opportunity to observe the flora underfoot and all around. Busarello began, almost instinctively, to draw closer to nature, depicting plants at their true scale on large sheets of paper.
Using water collected from the places where she lived, she painted delicate branches and flowers in life size, connecting them through fine lines, dots, and cut-outs that form a circular composition. The wreath—an enduring symbol of innocence, youth, prosperity, victory, and the eternal cycle of life—emerges as the central motif of the series.
These works unfold as a meditation on time, nature, and the continuous cycle of life, expressed through the beauty and fragility of plants.
