Founded in the 13th century, the former women’s abbey is located in an area characterised by a complex system of waterways. In a space rich in historical and symbolic associations, the artist’s works become a link between the earthly and the spiritual.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe first part of the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eTerrae.Spiritus\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e project was installed on the grounds of the abbey: sixteen steel rods, placed by the artist at sixteen points where natural materials were collected, mark the locations connected to the work. In Busarello’s architectural practice, steel elements served as the foundations of future structures; here, they acquire a different meaning, symbolising a path towards spiritual elevation — sixteen silent ‘psalms’ in which life continues to resonate indefinitely.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe second part of the installation comprises paintings displayed in the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ePassage aux Champs\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e. They are made from natural materials collected in Brazil’s Atlantic Forest, the artist’s homeland, as well as at the sixteen marked locations on the abbey grounds. For Busarello, plants, shells, minerals and soil are not simply materials, but living pigments connected to ancient knowledge.
